Books Coming to the Big Screen

New Moon. We already know how I feel about Twilight, so I will be in the theater for this one. Here are the werewolves.

The Time Traveler's Wife. I enjoyed this book very much, and I do love Rachel McAdams, so I'm interested in the movie version.

My Sister's Keeper. This was my first Jodi Picoult book and I loved it. I'm not really a Cameron Diaz fan, but will probably put this movie on the rental list once it comes out. (And just watching the trailer, the tears come again. Plus, Jason Patric and Thomas Dekker are in it - I enjoy them both very much.)

Dr. Kay Scarpetta, Patricia Cornwell's medical examiner, will be most likely played by Angelina Jolie. I read so many Scarpetta novels when I was in high school that I might actually be interested in this series of movies. And surprisingly, I can see Jolie as the character.

What books-turned-movies are you looking forward to?

Nice. That preview for "My Sister's Keeper" makes me feel less annoyed that Cameron Diaz is in the Mom role--I'm glad Abby Breslin and the girl from Medium (a MN girl) are in the main roles and not the Fanning sisters. I'm also getting excited about the upcoming "The Lovely Bones." Not sure about Jolie as Scarpetta,; I used to love those books and I just don't picture her as Kay, but we'll see. I'm nervous about "Time Traveler's Wife" on film, cause it's such an odd story, but I love Rachel McAdams, and I think they may pull it off.

I had no idea they were making movies from My Sister's Keeper and Time Traveler's Wife ... I'll have to see them both. And of course, New Moon. I FINALLY saw Twilight on DVD. It was everything I expected (and then some!) I really liked it. :)

EMB - Yes, Lovely Bones! I'm excited to see that too. And while I think Jolie is a bit too gorgeous and goddess-like for Scarpetta, she can play serious law enforcement figures pretty well.

CMS - I'm so glad you liked Twilight! Did the hubby watch it with you or did you give him a break on that one?

I am very interested in Time Traveler's Wife. I absolutely loved the book, and am not quite sure how the movie will be.

Angels and Demons is out soon. Did you read that one? I thought it was pretty bad, but I love Tom Hanks so I'll probably see the movie.
