A Look Back to 2008: Quick Survey

I'm working on my "Best Books I read in 2008" blog for sometime in December (see last year's list here), but I was curious, if you had to create a similar post, what would you include? Think back - What were the best books you read in 2008?

The Dive from Clausen's Pier
The Time Traveler's Wife
Water for Elephants
Hanna's Daughters
The Glass Castle
Eat, Pray, Love
New Moon (I liked this one even better than Twilight!)

Are you close to hitting your novel-writing/ word count goal? I noticed on Willikat's blog that you spent a lot of time writing this weekend! ;)

The Big Sleep
If on a winter's night a traveler
Cloud Atlas
What Is the What?
The Book Thief

(Like CMS, I also listed The Glass Castle for a while, but it ended up moving off the list as the year progressed.)

What is the What
Mountains Beyond Mountains
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Infidel
The Namesake
The Year of Magical Thinking
Helter Skelter
The Freedom Writers' Diary (so amazing, not at all cheesetastic)
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Good thing for Goodreads!!! That helped make this list. There were lots o' others that were pretty great too, but this year I read some lifechanging books.

I would say by far it would be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

Of course much of my time was spent with the Twilight Saga.
